6. Elevator Pitch

Your “elevator pitch” is an essential part of your marketing. Not only is it the quick 30-second introduction you give people when you meet them at a business networking event (or in an elevator) but it also forces you to summarize your business proposition in a short and concise way. This chapter breaks down the elevator pitch into 4 sentences, each with it’s own objective and format. By following this model, you get clearly get your message out in 75 words or less. Go through the exercise and fine-tune it as time goes on. It will end up becoming the basis for your positioning statement, and that has implications for your website development too. So in the end, your elevator pitch plays a much more important role that most people realize.
