78. Social Media Monitoring

Most “experts”, when they talk about social media, talk about listening and authenticity and engagement – all great suggestions. I am happy to admit that I don’t really fall into that category. Because for most SMALL businesses, if you start “listening”, you won’t hear anything! So my tactics are usually geared towards getting that conversation started. But that doesn’t mean that listening isn’t important. And certainly, if you use the strategies in this book, you should be getting that conversation started in no time. So this chapter reviews some of the to social media monitoring platforms available on the internet. Some are free. Others are not. But they are all powerful options that can help you listen to the dialog concerning your products or services.
