21. Categorize Your Content

One of the most important parts of a successful business is a sales funnel. By offering some things for cheap or even free, you lure people into your sphere of influence. Then, by offering progressively more expensive items, you pull prospects through and monetize their trust at more and more profitable levels. In order to do that, you have to categorize your content (or your product offering) into different levels. This chapter proposes beginner, intermediate and advanced, but those are arbitrary labels. Call your categories whatever you like. The important thing is to start thinking of your value as part of a progression. The next three chapters deals with each level in turn.
