38. Internet Directories

Are internet directories just a waste of time? These days, yes, most of them are. The “Google juice” you get for inbound links from directories are virtually meaningless. The search engines discounted them years ago. But there are still some directories that are worth getting listed on. Which ones? The ones that are specific to your industry and attract qualified prospects who use them the same way people used to use the yellow pages. Every industry (or “vertical”) has directories specific to their field and it’s important to identify them, determine which ones are free and which ones costs money, and then prioritize them based on your time frame and budget.
